What is the thing that needs to be said? (let her menstrual blood flow freely)

"Free bleeding" is disgusting/irresponsible and should not be allowed in public spaces.

A few months ago, I read a response on the Mes Culottes website from someone who had tried free bleeding and was proud of her experience - having the freedom to go out in public without a tampon getting in the way. It was the first time I had heard of the concept and I was completely baffled to think that anyone would do this deliberately.

Since then, I've noticed that free bleeding is mentioned several times and I even saw a photo of a lady with blood stains running down her pants who was bleeding freely during a marathon.

I can't think of any reason why anyone would choose to do such a thing, but I feel like it's some kind of revolution: "Down with the patriarchy! I have no shame in my natural feminine functions!"

Even though it comes from a good place, what about blood contamination?

There is a very plausible reason why blood-contaminated waste is thrown into the biohazard bin, including the risk of blood-borne diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis B and C. Blood is unhygienic. These diseases are transmitted when other people's blood comes into contact with your own or your mucous membranes.

This is also why syringes should never be reused or shared.

Also, I don't know if you've noticed this, but blood is red and stains everything it touches. Would you want to risk staining your furniture? Fine. But you also risk staining park benches, bar stools, computer chairs, yoga mats, or couches that don't belong to you! What gives you the right to knowingly ruin someone else's property?

Want to be eco-friendly? Use menstrual panties or a menstrual cup

Want to avoid toxic shock syndrome? Use a sanitary napkin or menstrual panties instead of a tampon and change it frequently.

Want society to change their views about menstruation? Talk about it openly and distribute feminine hygiene products openly.

Think of others.
